Just a normal day, picking Mommy up from the office.
Saturday, 80 degrees. We ate lunch, then waved goodbye to Daddy as we dropped him off at work.
Augie slept and Adelaide played outside while I cleaned the kitchen floor and tuned in to the NPR pledge drive, and I didn’t feel guilty because I already gave them five dollars, and besides, I secretly like pledge drives.
We had a list of errands to run, but we decided to stay home instead, putting our hands in the dirt, pulling weeds, daydreaming about planting seeds. And when my nail polish chipped and the kids didn’t do what I said, I let it go, because life is short, and days like today don’t happen enough.
After the sun had set, we took a drive with the windows rolled down.
